Gulf Coast Village joins Healthy Lee’s Million Mile Movement

Gulf Coast Village, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Cape Coral, has announced its participation in Healthy Lee’s Million Mile Movement, a community-wide challenge to the residents of Lee County to collectively move 1,000,000 miles in a 90-day period. The challenge runs through March 31.

Gulf Coast Village’s latest fitness initiative is one of many ways that the community promotes health and well-being and creates an overall culture of wellness for residents and staff. Members of the community are encouraged to take an active approach to their health by participating in daily exercise classes offered within the community, such as Tai Chi and Zumba, and utilizing high-quality equipment available at Gulf Coast Village’s wellness center, such as the award-winning CyberCycle, a virtual reality cardio bicycle and exercise program that stimulates seniors physically and cognitively.

“Gulf Coast Village is excited to take part in Healthy Lee’s Million Mile Movement,” said Melissa Wallace, wellness coordinator at Gulf Coast Village. “Physical fitness plays an essential role in maintaining the overall health of seniors, and we are thrilled for our residents and staff to join the community-wide challenge as we work together to achieve better health.”
